What is Acknowledge U?  It isn't a university, although there's a lot that can be learned here.  Acknowledge U is about everyday people honoring people everyday. 

It's a project to create connection and relatedness in our communities simply by acknowledging others.  This can be done in any and all communities: towns where we live, our work communities, our schools, our families. And, since today we're only an email, text message or instant message away from anyone anywhere in the world, we can reach people in our global community with this message. 

Acknowledge U has two major short-term goals:

1. To create an immediate impact in communities around the world through widespread participation in an Acknowledgment Marathon on October 25, 2008, which is Make a Difference Day here in the U.S.: http://www.usaweekend.com/diffday/; and

2. With the assistance and support of similar-minded national and international organizations, such as The Pay It Forward Foundation (http://www.payitforwardmovement.org/groups/AcknowledgeU.html), Difference Makers International (http://www.blueribbons.org) and others, continue to spread the word about the impact of acknowledging others so that it lives and grows beyond Make a Difference Day.

We're not a big organization.  You can help us spread the word by sharing this site with everyone you know.  We want to create a wave of acknowlegement around the globe.  We'd like your feedback either by emailing us at jpal@acknowledgeu.com, by providing your comments on the Contact Us page, or by leaving a message on our blog (http://www.acknowledgeu.wordpress.com).   We want to record how many people are acknowledged, who they are, and where they are so we can demonstrate the impact acknowledgment has on people.
